  Hi

I have discovered additional information regarding Joseph Easterbrook (b1767)of Bristol. He married Mary Nott in Tiverton, Devon 18 Jul 1788 by licence. He was admitted as a Freeman of the City of Bristol on 10 Jan 1789 by virtue of the fact that his father, Jacob Easterbrook, tobacconist was a freeman of the city. He died 10 Jan 1810. I hold a copy of his will - if there any will transcribers out there I would welcome their help in fully understanding the contents.
His wife, Mary Nott, was the daughter of William Nott & Elizabeth Dunsford of Tiverton, Devon. She was baptised 28 Oct 1765 in Tiverton, Devon. William Nott was an Ironmonger & tobacconist who died 5 Feb 1794 - copy of his will held.
His father, Jacob Easterbrook, baptised 29 Dec 1740, the son of Jacob Easterbrook, weaver, & Mary Giles. He was admitted as a Freeman of the city of Bristol 24 Aug 1761 by virtue of having served an apprenticeship to Andrew Wigginston, tobacconist. He died circa 1784/5 - a copy of his will is also held by me. His father, Jacob Easterbrook senior, was admitted as a Freeman of the city of Bristol by virtue of his marriage to Mary Giles, the daughter of John Giles, soap maker, also a freeman of the city.

We are decendants of James Thomas William Tomlin and I'd like to share some info on his family and hoping you can help me with his great grandparents. I have enjoyed reading the Easterbrook family tree and hope I can compile something similiar. Thanks Mary

  Hi

I have a research interest in a Joseph Easterbrook who is my 4x greatgrandfather. I have very limited information about him other than he married a Mary and produced 5 children, who were baptised/born in Bristol, England. He was a tobacconist and died (age unknown) in Bristol in 1810.
If anyone recognise this branch of the Easterbrook name I would welcome contact.
Regards
Jim

  Hi,
I am looking into my Husbands family of Easterbrooks through his Mum, but we seem to have hit a dead end. Her Grandfather was called William Easterbrook, born in Stonehouse (Plymouth) in 1878 and married Aves May in 1902. The family story is that he ran off to Canada in approx 1910, and he is not on the 1911 census, so this could be possible, but if anyone out there could shed some light i would be eternally grateful! Thanks

My great-great-grandmother, Bessie Emily Easterbrook, born Devonport / Stoke Damerel, Devon gave her father's name as Edward Easterbrook (Ship's Captain) at her marriage in 1868 in Dieppe, France.
I believe her mother, Jessey Pope, married him in 1846.

I am an Easterbrook by marriage. We have one son, b.1991. My husband was born in South Africa, and returned to England in the 1970s (unknowingly to his roots in Cornwall?). His parents were Michael m. Catherine Murray (both deceased); we have no contacts in South Africa, as my sister-in-law, Jennifer (married name Cole) b.1949, is also deceased.
Many thanks for all the work on this site

  Hi,
Has anyone any more details of a James Easterbrook MA (Master of Arts?).
He was born in 1852 and died in Mentone, possibly France on 1st Feb 1923. Aged 71.
He married Eliza Edith Montague Hamilton between April & June 1908 in Kensington.
They lived at Whitemoor, Burley near Ringwood Hants.
They died without issue.
I'm researching the Hamiltons but would like some more information on James and his origins.

My husband and I own the house that Captain John Easterbrook (b. 1727)built in 1750 in Barnstable, MA (USA) when he married Abigail Gorham. It still has the original floor plan (with an addition) and much of the original framing and fireplaces. We have found the grave markers of much of the early Easterbrook family in Barnstable, including those of John and Abigail. Photos of the house can be seen at www.cape-barn.com

I've looked briefly through your website, basically looking for my ancester, Captain John Easterbrook who was a native of Ireland (according to an authority in New England. Capt. John was born in 1727. I'm trying to find his parents and ancestors. As an adult he married, had many children, and lived in Barnstable, Massachusetts (Cape Cod). I am out of his son Samuel and have lots of information on the other children. His home still stands as a perfect example of architecture at that time. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My mother's female line includes the Munden family originally from Ilminster, Somerset. My mother's grandmother was Annie Jemima Munden whose brother was Frederick William Munden [b. 1858 Newington] who married [1885 Greenwich] Fanny Caroline Order [b.about 1865 Deptford]. I would be interested in any information we could share on this line.

At the start of the second world war, my mum and her brother were evacuated to Salcombe in Devon where they stayed with a distant relation called Mary Easterbrook. This would have been her married name, and she was middle aged at that time. She had 2 sons who were professional golfers (Ryder Cup, we think). One of them was called George Eaterbrook. We're trying to work out our connection to the Easterbrook family. Can anyone help? Thank you
