Ireland
This page covers the island of Ireland and includes families living in:
Cork Dublin Leitrim
The whole of island of Ireland was part of the United Kingdom from the Act of Union in 1800 until Irish independence in 1922. Following the Anglo-Irish Treaty, Ireland seceded from the UK to become the Irish Free State but a day later 6 northern counties seceded from the Free State and rejoined the UK as the province of Northern Ireland. In 1937 a new Constition of Ireland re-established the state as Ireland (Éire in Irish). In 1949 Ireland was declared a republic and left the British Commonwealth.
For the purposes of this site and genealogy, I have used Ireland to refer to the geographical entity and in general, and Republic of Ireland (RoI) or Northern Ireland (NI) when explicitly referring to post-1922 political entities.
For a illustration of how Ireland fits into the Geographical and Political structure of the British Isles I suggest the Wikipedia Euler Diagram.

Jane, William, and Thomas are siblings from Leitrim. In 1881 William and Thomas are barmen working in the Half Moon and 7 Stars public house in St George Street in the East End of London. Jane's husband is the landlord.
In 1901, Thomas has taken over the running of the Half Moon and is assisted by his nieces Ann Easterbrook and Mary Reely both from Leitrim.
