James was a Ship's Steward. The only reference I can find for him is on William's marriage certificate.
Son William was a Ship's Steward born in Plymouth. In 1861 and 1871 he is living with his grandparents, in 1861 his mother is present but in 1871 both parents are absent. His marriage record in 1882 gives both parents as deceased. William moved to Ardrossan, Ayrshire sometime between 1871 and 1882.

Henry Joseph and Isabella lived in Hamilton, Lanark until about 1888 when they emigrated to the USA.
An family account gives Henry Joseph's place of birth as Plymouth, Devon but this is possibly incorrect.
This family is being researched by Carol.

Thomas was a Tea Merchant. The family moved from London in the mid 1860s. Thomas was back in London in 1881 with sons Sidney and Frank, and in 1891 as a widower with 4 of the children.
The younger children remained in London. The older children settled in Scotland: although I cannot find them in 1891 or 1901 censuses their names appear in Edinburgh telephone books later in the 20th century.
Alexander and Charles became medical surgeons.
Charles Cromhall Easterbrook was the Phyisician Superintendent of Crichton Royal Hospital 1908-1937 (Dumfries). He gave his name to Easterbrook Hall on the same site, now a conference centre.

Victor George was born in Lerwick. He enlisted in Aberdeen in 1913 as George Easterbrook and was demobilised in London in 1919. His service record contains the declaration: I, Victor Geroge Bruce do so solemnly and sincerly declare that I was enlisted on the 16th day of April 1918 under the name of George Easterbrook which name I now delcare to be incorrect. The name of Victor George Bruce contained in the accompanying certificate of birth I now declare to be my true name.... His brothers names's of Charles Easterbrook and Alfred Easterbrook given on enlistment are also probably false, although his wife seems to be correct.
